The Community of Practice (CoP) is a platform for disability job coaches and employment specialists (who provide job support for persons with disabilities) to learn and collaborate with one another, as well as strengthen their competencies, with the aim of delivering better employment services to persons with disabilities and employers.
In each session, held once every two months, CoP members will discuss cases and challenges faced, share best practices and learn from their counterparts and other experts, including overseas practitioners – on finding solutions that provide strong and sustainable employment support for persons with disabilities and employers.

The ACSE is specially designed to build capabilities of disability employment professionals in providing employment and employability support for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).
The advanced certificate programme will equip learners with knowledge on how to carry out the following:
- Assist PWDs in their career planning
- Manage interactions with different clients
- Work with employers for job accommodations and modifications
- Incorporate case management with PWDs
- Provide counselling support for PWDs
- Manage conflicts between PWDs and employers, caregivers and the community
- Apply the support employment framework to design a support plan for PWDs

These trainings aim to develop and strengthen the competencies of sector employment professionals, enabling them to deliver better services to persons with disabilities and employers in terms of job placement, job coaching and support so as to help persons with disabilities integrate effectively into the workforce. Submission of applications to SG Enable
Employment provides persons with disabilities with income, a sense of belonging to the community and self-worth as contributing members of society. Disability Employment Professionals play an instrumental role in supporting persons with disabilities throughout the employment process and sustaining them in their jobs.
The SkillsFuture Study Award encourages experienced Disability Employment Professionals to strengthen their competencies, so they can deliver quality service to persons with disabilities and employers. These professionals can also include supervisors or HR Professionals who have been instrumental in supporting the employment of persons with disabilities at their workplace. With improved service quality in terms of job placement, job coaching, and job support, persons with disabilities can integrate more effectively into the workforce.
- Singaporean with at least 2 years of work experience in the field of Disability Employment
- Committed to deepening skills in the field of work
- Have track record of contributing to learning and training of self and/or others
- Not a previous recipient of any SkillsFuture Study Award
- Have not completed course of study at the point of application
- Possess strong career aspirations and demonstrate passion for supporting persons with disabilities
- Employers’ nominations are highly encouraged
- Do note that Public Officers are not eligible for the SFSA
Supportable courses include, but are not limited to, local and overseas executive courses, Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, and Specialist Diploma programmes relating to understanding disabilities, supported employment, career education, career guidance, career counselling and workforce development. Certifications leading to acquiring strengths in profiling, coaching, negotiation, or counselling skills may be considered. Proposed courses should be relevant to the sector of work.

Applicants can apply for more than one course under the SkillsFuture Study Award for Disability Employment Professionals. The total fees for all proposed applications, including the course registration fees, course fees, costs for materials and other compulsory expenses (net of any other subsidies), must amount to S$2,500 and above.
Applications are on-going starting from 17 Sep 2016. Evaluations of applications are conducted once every 3 months.
