Persons with disabilities who are in employment can tap on the Open Door Programme (ODP) fund to upgrade their skills through training. The ODP is a programme that aims to encourage employer to hire, train and integrate persons with disabilities. Employers, who hire persons with disabilities (PWDs), will be eligible for grants and employment support services under the Programme.
Employers can send their employees with disabilities to attend courses to enhance their skills in their field of work or learn new skills for career advancement by applying for ODP Training Grant from SG Enable.
The SkillsFuture Study Award for Persons with Disabilities is a dedicated category that recognises role models who have demonstrated resilience and perseverance in pursuing their learning to achieve their full potential in life. Through this award, persons with disabilities can enhance their employability by developing and deepening their relevant competencies and skillsets.
You will receive a monetary award of S$5,000, which you can use to defray out-of-pocket expenses associated with the course that you will be taking. It can also be used on top of existing Government course fee subsidies. You do not need to serve a bond.
Singaporean with at least 2 years of work experience
Has a permanent disability*
Demonstrated efforts to upgrade skills and is committed to deepening skills
Not a previous recipient of any SkillsFuture Study Award
Has not completed course of study at the point of application
Do note that Public Officers are not eligible for the SFSA
Supportable courses include, but are not limited to, local and overseas executive courses, Bachelor’s, and Master’s degrees, and Specialist Diploma programmes. Applicants may also propose their course of interest and SG Enable will evaluate the course on a case-by-case basis.
Applicants can apply for more than one course under the SkillsFuture Study Award for Persons with Disabilities. The total fees for all proposed applications, including the course registration fees, course fees, costs for materials and other compulsory expenses (net of any other subsidies), must amount to S$2,500 and above.
Applications are on-going starting from 17 Sep 2016. Evaluations of applications are conducted once every 3 months.

Evaluation of applications will take about 6 weeks after the closing date. Shortlisted applicants will be notified.

In addition to the SkillsFuture Study Awards, SkillsFuture is a national movement to provide Singaporeans with the opportunities to develop their fullest potential throughout life, regardless of their starting points.
From January 2016, Singapore Citizens aged 25 years and above who received their SkillsFuture Credit mailer will be eligible for an initial credit of $500 which can be used to pay for a range of skills-related courses on top of existing approved SG Enable funded courses.
